Bonneville Salt Flats - Utah

The Bonneville Salt Flats consist of over 30,000 acres of densely packed salt that are a remnant of Lake Bonneville, and is home to land speed record breaking events since 1914. It is a surreal landscape unlike anything else in the world. A brilliantly white landscape so flat that you can see the curvature of the earth set against distant mountain peaks make it one of the most incredible destinations that Utah has to offer, and it is accessible from the comfort of your car.

Closest major airport: Salt Lake City International Airport
Drive time from airport: ~1.5 hours
Best time of year: late July through October
Accessibility: Easy - within 2 hours of a major airport, little to no hiking required
